A.R. was at a pivotal point in her life and sought the Life Skills Program for assistance with obtaining her high school diploma, nursing school application and employment, as well as with goal-setting. It was the beginning of her journey toward self-sufficiency. A.R.’s Life Skills coach Mike, together with her case worker at the Mental Health Association, quickly began to alleviate roadblocks to receiving the diploma. After determining she had outstanding fines, which Lunch Break donors graciously helped to pay, A.R. is about to achieve her dream and should have her diploma in hand shortly. And with help from coach Beth, she is studying for the entrance exam for nursing training. She is now on the path to building a new resume, establishing a LinkedIn presence, and will continue working toward her goals.
