“Mrs. Mistake,” by nearly-8-year-old Penelope Klausz, a second-grade student at The Ranney School in Tinton Falls, is among the many works of art being offered for bid during the second annual online Artists Open Hearts for Lunch Break fundraiser April 30th-May 9th, 2021.

Penelope began creating her artwork at a very young age, and she fell in love with the process and the different mediums. After creating this piece, the young artist decided to cover some of the elements she had drawn on the face. Using natural plant materials and colorful papers to mask her “mistake,” Penelope added texture and dimension to her work.

Proceeds from the auction will benefit Lunch Break. This fundraiser will help provide food security for so many of our neighbors who are struggling with financial burdens.
