Where There’s a Will, There’s a Way

Juan, a participant in the Alliance For Success program, is a shining example of where there’s a will, there’s a way. And the way came through many channels — and lots of hard work! Juan, who wanted very much to become an intern for the Affordable Housing Alliance, has now realized his dream, with assistance from mentor Paul Hooker and the AFS program. But before he could even begin his internship, Juan needed transportation. Thanks to Ranney School students, he has a new bike, which came in handy so he could pick up necessary forms at the doctor’s office and set up a direct deposit at his bank. In addition to his internship, Juan has a part-time job at the Americana Diner in Shrewsbury and is saving his pay to afford round-trip airfare to Mexico to visit his mother during the summer. And his mentor assured us he will help Juan make it safely to Newark Airport! Congratulations to all!
