Executive Director Gwendolyn Love Honored for a Lifetime of Selfless Service to Neighbors in Need

Nearly 400 Lunch Break supporters were reunited for a magical evening of entertainment to honor the organization’s 40th year of providing vital basic needs and social service programs on behalf of financially and food insecure community members and honor Executive Director Gwendolyn Love for her unwavering community service during the 2023 Fall Gala “Celebrating the Legacy”.

The event was hosted by comedian and advocate Jon Stewart. The gala committee, co-chaired by Mimi Keenan and Tina Pflaster, coordinated the fundraiser’s “40 Years of Community Service” theme— a nod to Lunch Break’s historical significance as a community leader in nutritious food services, housing, life skills and youth programs.

Guests were treated to musical performances by students from the Count Basie Center for the Arts, along with culinary creations catered by TillingHouse. A live auction, including exciting adventures, featured a getaway to Vermont; dinner in a trendy Manhattan restaurant for six; tickets to a premier performance at the Metropolitan Opera; and a gourmet pizza party on the Navesink
