Jennifer Sefchek’s story is a wonderful example of how preparation, perseverance and opportunity come together to create meaningful success.
Accepted into the Life Skills Program in August 2025, Jennifer quickly immersed herself in the program, beginning with Life Skills’ Employment Preparation on August 27. Equipped with new tools and confidence, she applied for the Welcome Ambassador position at Hackensack Meridian Health Neptune location and took the next big step by attending and interviewing at the Life Skills Hiring Event on September 29.
Jennifer’s dedication paid off! She was offered the Welcome Ambassador role and is now proudly working at Hackensack Meridian Health, welcoming patients and visitors with professionalism and care.
In addition to her employment success, Jennifer continued building essential skills by participating in the Fall 2025 Computer and Financial Literacy class series. She also completed Life Skills’ Chrysalis III Orientation Program with perfect attendance, earning a Certificate of Achievement. Jennifer won the Laptop Lottery due to her eligibility from perfect Chrysalis attendance.
Birgit Mondesir, the Life Skills program manager, had this to say about Jennifer, “She has truly been an inspiration to me and her fellow Life Skills participants. She is the epitome of what is possible when you don’t give in or give up.” Jennifer’s accomplishments reflect her hard work and commitment to personal and professional growth. We’re excited to see all that she continues to achieve.
